Dustin Johnson breezes through 2013 Tournament of Champions, claims 7th title

The Tournament of Champions, had a slow start, and ended with an accelerated player finish. Dustin Johnson takes it, in a third start to the tournament. Delays based on gusty weather, on the Island of Maui, forced three elective restarts by event officials.

Johnson's final-round 5- under-par 68 to win the Tournament of Champions in Hawaii, his seventh title on golf’s U.S. PGA Tour. Johnson receives $1.12 million for the victory in the season opener.

Jan. 8, Bloomberg News, Johnson told PGA officials, "A couple of bad drives cost me a few shots but, other than that, I played really good golf.”

The weather delays created a hurry-up pace to complete the tournament and move on to the Sony Open Hawaii, for some of the golfers. Dustin Johnson is thriving at this faster pace.

Johnson told PGA officials at the start of the day, "I've still got 18 more holes of golf. It wouldn't matter if it was 72 holes or 54. (Tuesday) is still the last round and there's 18 holes to play, so got to get the job done."
