HBO has been dominating cable channel with original series for some time. With hits like The Sopranos, True Blood, Oz, Boardwalk Empire and may more they continue to push great programming with not only great writing, but some surprisingly great star power. The latest addition to their already impressive line-up is Luck starring Academy Award winner Dustin Hoffman.
Luck follows Chester "Ace" Bernstein, "a man in his late 60s just released from three years in prison that’s autodidactic, intelligent, and deeply involved in gambling who after being picked up after being release and is informed that he is now registered as a licensed horse owner, as a front for his boss, Turo Escalante.
The show co-stars Dennis Farina, John Ortiz, Nick Nolte, Jason Gedrick, Richard Kind, and Kevin Dunn.
The show premieres on January 29th on HBO.
