During filming for HBO documentary,Dennis Rodman makes a new friend: Kim Jong Un

Dennis Rodman, along with members of The Harlem Globetrotters recently made a trip to North Korea recently to compete in a friendly game of hoops against Korea's "Dream Team". Fox 8 reported on Feb. 28 that Rodman told Korea's leader Kim Jong Un “You have a friend for life, ” as the unlikely pair watched the game from the sidelines.

Rodman and company trecked their way to Pyongyang as part of the filming of a documentory by Vice Productions. Once complete the movie will air in monthly installments on HBO. Despite the recent tensions between the United States and Korea, the visit appeared to be full of good spirit.

Founder of Vice, Shane Smith said: “To see everyone letting their hair down and getting into the match made it all the more worthwhile, At the reception afterward, many kind words were spoken and invitations offered.”

The controversial North Korean leader is reportedly a huge basketball fan was thouroughly engrossed in the game, which ended in a tie. The leader probably wont be making his own trip to the United State, he replied to an invitation with laughter.

Rodman took to Twitter to say that he is honored to represent The United States and “I’m not a politician. Kim Jung Un & North Korean people are basketball fans. I love everyone. Period. End of story,” he tweeted.
