Greetings!
The Durham Farmer's Market 15th season will kickoff tomorrow with summer hours, new events, returning favorites, and Chef Amy Tournquist of Watt's Grocery and Hummingbird Bakery!
The market will be open from 8am until noon.
They are reporting that Ever Laughter Farm and Farmer's Daughter Pickles and Preserves will be joining the Summer Market. Previously they were Wednesday and winter market vendors.
Also new vendors will be occupying the Wednesday and winter markets, so there will be some new neighbors to meet!
There will be two bands at market. The Bulltown Strutters will play as well as parade around the park from 10am -11am. Deja Blue, a women's a capella group from Duke University will sing on the lawn at 10:30am and 11:30 am.
The craft market will be back at market for the season!
There will be much more room for shoppers to peruse, with Foster Street vendors setting up on the street and the street blocked off.
It will be a very busy Saturday market!
Chef Amy Tournquist will be getting the season off to a great start, as she does annually.
She and Sous Chef Kyle Wilkerson will be making egg biscuits with spinach and house-made chorizo. If there is one thing that can be attested to, their house-made sausage is fantastic. The demo will be 9-10:30am!
