Dunkin' Donuts is on the move, and many in California are jumping for joy. The popular doughnut and coffee chain announced big plans for expansion, and it seems getting back into the California market is at the top of the list. NBC Los Angeles shared the details on Jan. 16.
Those in Southern California will have to wait a while yet, but the Dunkin' Donuts move is in the works. The chain has about 10,000 worldwide locations right now, with 7,000 of those being in the U.S. The chain has announced that they have ambitious goals to expand those numbers to have 15,000 in the U.S. within the next few years. It may be 2015 before Californians can scoop up their Dunkin' Donuts favorites, but many are already sharing their enthusiasm.
The chain shares it will be eyeing opportunities such as supermarkets, college campuses, casinos, airports and military bases. MarketWatch shares that the chain is eyeing Los Angeles, San Diego, Riverside, Ventura, San Bernardino and Orange counties as its initial location targets. Nearly 300 locations across the country were added in 2012, with another 330 to 360 slated for 2013.
Will Dunkin' Donuts move into your area soon as well? For now many coffee and doughnut lovers will have to stay tuned for news on where else the company will be expanding, but this is good news for the chain and those that love their products.
