Autism Speaks, the world's leading autism science and advocacy organization, has partnered with participating Dunkin' Donuts locations throughout the Orlando-Daytona area to help raise awareness and money for the non-profit.
During the campaign, $1 donations will be collected to support Autism Speaks and The DDBRCF at all participating locations in the Orlando-Daytona Beach area. For each donation, guests will receive a “Community Cup” to sign and display in the restaurant. Fifty percent of the donation will be donated to Autism Speaks. The remaining fifty percent will be donated to The DDBRCF and will be designated for grants to local charities in the Southeast that focus on hunger relief, safety and children's health.
The fundraising campaign started September 30 and will continues through October 13.
“Given the prevalence of autism – with 1 in 88 children being diagnosed – there are individuals and families affected by this disorder in every community,” said Karen Thompson, Chairman, Orlando Walk Now for Autism Speaks.
“Having a wonderful partner like Dunkin’ Donuts, a well-recognized and well-regarded member of each of these communities, not only provides Autism Speaks with the opportunity to spread its message of awareness and compassion, but also helps to enhance Dunkin’ Donuts’ tremendous support of Autism Speaks’ programs, all of which help to improve the lives of those affected by this mysterious and pervasive disorder,” Thompson added.
"It’s amazing to realize that Dunkin’ Donuts can truly make a difference in our local communities,” said Jeannie Graff, Dunkin’ Donuts field marketing manager. “Through The Dunkin’ Donuts & Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation (DDBRCF), we are committed to giving back to the communities where we live and work, and look forward to further supporting local charities in the Southeast that focus on hunger relief, safety and children's health.”
