Anthony Savini and producing partner Andrew Pascal are currently starting production to create the definitive documentary on Dungeons & Dragons. They've asked me to participate and I hope that this balanced documentary will do justice to the hobby we all know and love.
Dungeons & Dragons: A Documentary will be a definitive look at the game Dungeons & Dragons, its history, appeal and effect. A game like no other, with influences far-reaching and subtle. A feature length film, shot on HD video. This will be released in 2013, to coincide with the 40th Anniversary of the release of Dungeons & Dragons. Stay tuned for updates, photos and reports on our progress. They welcome anyone who plays or who has ever played Dungeons & Dragons, any and all gamers, LARPs, SCA enthusiasts, MMORPG players or simply anyone who has ever been curious about the modern phenomenon known as role-playing.
Andrew and Anthony have been film-makers for the past 15 years, eking out a living working on the production end of the business. Andrew wrote and directed a feature film called, “Spin the Bottle” back in the late 90’s and also currently putting together a production company to create and produce not an assortment of other projects. Anthony has a long history of working with legendary documentarians such as Ken & Rick Burns and Academy-Award winning, Bill Guttentag. He has also written and directed several narrative and commercial works. They are also gamers.
