Trendy Entertainment’s Dungeon Defenders has launched 2 DLC packs for Halloween on TrendyNet, which are free for a limited time and contain new skins, a new map, and new gear all with a Halloween theme.
Simply snagging the Halloween Spooktacular DLC will net you 4 new outfits for your characters – Devil Monk, Mummy Apprentice, Pirate Squire, and Witch Huntress. Getting the additional 4 “ultra rare” unlockable skins will be a little tougher, as you’ll have to beat the new Halloween mission on Insane difficulty mode.
Ultra rare unlockable skins consist of Monk Ninja, Apprentice Vampire, Squire Death Knight, and Huntress Angel. There are also 8 Halloween weapons (2 per class) available from the new challenge map.
The Halloween mission is essentially a reskinned Ramparts with the difficulty tuned up, and you better put aside plenty of time if you’re looking to tackle it on insane – you’ll be taking on thousands of creatures, and it’s akin to playing Insane Survival on levels 15+. Not only is it definitely above the difficulty curve, it’s an endurance test as well.
The Tavern hub has also been trick or treated out for the event, complete with a costume for the beloved innkeeper and Halloween decorations.
