The Dundee Heritage Festival is being held Thurs.-Sun, Sept. 12-15, 2013. The fest is a four day event in the north western suburbs of Chicago, in Kane County. The weekend features activities, entertainment and fun for the entire family.

Heritage Fest features carnival rides, musical entertainment, food and beverages, a car show, arts and crafts fair, a homecoming parade, fireworks, Baggo tournament, antiques fair, farmers market, kids activities and more.
The fest starts with the carnival on Thurs. evening. Most of the events and attractions are held on Sat. and Sun., so the weekend days will be the busiest.
Food will be available at the fest Fri.-Sun. The menu includes hearty food, including Greek gyros and shish-kabobs, hot dogs, cotton candy, grilled chicken on a stick, pizza, hamburgers and more.
The fireworks show will light the sky, reflecting in the Fox River, on Fri. (8 p.m.). Suggested viewing areas include the Riverwalk, the Main Street (Hwy. 72) bridge and the festival tent.
Sun. is a community oriented day, with a pancake breakfast and a homecoming parade, in addition to the festival events. The Dundee West Crown High School Homecoming Parade is held on Sun., starting at 2 p.m. Homecoming Parade begins in East Dundee and travels west on Main Street, and crossing the Fox River into West Dundee. The Dundee Lions Club pancake breakfast is on Sun. morning (8-11 a.m.), so visitors can start the day with a full stomach.
The carnival provided by Windy City Amusements runs Thurs.-Sun. Special wristbands, $20, will be available Thurs. (5-p m.), Sat. (1-5 p.m.) and Sun. (1-5 p.m.). In addition, kids' amusements will be located next to the main stage, including an inflatable pirate ship, rock climbing wall and bungee bounce provided by Tim's Toyz.
Live bands play starting on Fri. night, in Depot Park, the Grafelman Park Gazebo and downtown West Dundee. Some of the popular bands playing this weekend are 7th Heaven, Hi-Infidelity, The Neverly Brothers, Pirates Over 40, Friction, Jimmy Nick & Don't Tell Mama and The Larkin and Moran Brothers.
The festival will be in full swing on Sat. and Sun., with weekend events including a classic car show, Baggo tournament, antiques fair, farmers market and arts and crafts show.
