The United States is supposed to have a representative government. The Senate is supposed to represent the interests of the states, and the House of Representatives is supposed to represent the interests of the people. Today, however, the two major parties represent the interests of large multinational corporations. They are bought and owned by corporate entities such as Monsanto, British Petroleum (BP) and the megalomaniac insurance industry.
This is the time to dump both major parties and find statesmen who will represent us, instead of politicians who line their own pockets while selling us down the proverbial river.
They are bleeding us dry. Democrats and Republicans alike just wrote themselves a blank check, raising the debt ceiling to infinity from now until next February. In less than a week, the national debt rose by $328 billion to a record of more than $17 trillion. (U.S. debt junps, Washington Times)
We pay more than half of our hard-earned money in taxes. Not only does the government take money out of your paycheck, but you pay taxes on everything from the house or apartment where you live, to the car that you drive to work, to the water that comes out of the tap. Every time you buy something, you pay a tax. Even if no sales tax is added, the price includes the taxes that the producer must pay.
The only way to stop this madness is to dump the two major parties. Not only do they take our hard-earned money, but they also control every aspect of our lives, from the federal government on down to the cities and counties. We live in a world where the government tells you where to put your trash barrels and when you can put them there, and many of you think that it's okay because you don't like to look at the mess in your neighbor's yard. Is it okay that a man in Oregon had to pay huge fines and go to jail for collecting rain water on his own property? Is it okay that police officers have become assassination squads for the most helpless members of society?
Is it right that the federal government listens to all your phone calls, reads all you emails and know whether and when you play Farmville?
Vote Libertarian and find out what the job of government really is. The federal government is supposed to pay the debt, not borrow more. They are supposed to protect us from foreign enemies and regulate interstate commerce, and nothing more than that. And by the way, the regulation of interstate commerce is supposed to mean that the states cannot collect tariffs on goods sold across state lines.
All of the federal departments and agencies that regulate energy, food, medicine, education and more are usurping the power of the the states and local governing bodies. All of those departments and agencies need to be shut down, and all of the taxes that support them need to be repealed.
Vote Libertarian, or Independent, or anything but Democrat and Republican.
And please support the Rally to protest mass surveillance in D.C. on October 26.
