Dumb Friends League sets $300,000 goal for its annual telethon

PET TELETHON - The Dumb Friends League's 16th annual Pledges for Pets Telethon will be aired on KDVR-Fox31 from noon until 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 26. The Dumb Friends League hopes to raise $300,000 this year, which will go to care and services at the League's two animal shelters in Denver and Castle Rock and its equine center near Franktown.

The telethon will be hosted by Fox31 on-air talent, including Brooke Wagner, Kirk Yuhnke, Chris Parente, Ken Clark, Jennifer Broome, Chris Tomer, Shaul Turner, Chris Jose, Shanna Mendiola and Dan Daru. SEMINARS FOR CAT PEOPLE - The Cat Care Society's monthly seminar series makes its 2014 debut this Saturday, Jan. 18 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the shelter in Lakewood. Dr. Kerry Muhovich will speak on "vaccines for cats; what they do and how effective they are." Cost is $5 (free to Cat Care Society platinum members).
