‘Dumb and Dumber To’ may become another stupid-funny flick

“Just when I thought you couldn't possibly be any dumber, you go and do something like this... and totally redeem yourself! “

For all that felt they were either too sophisticated or too smart to go see the 1994 Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels flick “Dumb and Dumber, the aforementioned quote was one of the more “brilliant” one’s by Llyod Christmas, the character played by Carrey.

Now, a sequel may be on the near horizon, with its debut 20 years after the original comedy appeared on the silver screen.

According to the Mar. 14, Empire News, “Dumb and Dumber To,” the aptly named sequel to Jim Carrey’s “Dumb and Dumber’ may come to the big screen in 2014 – at least that’s what the talk is, and talk is plenty cheap in Hollywood.

Jim Carrey, who apparently has been reluctant about making the sequel, told Access Hollywood that he and Jeff Daniels were both “excited” about the prospect of reviving the dumb duo, Harry and Llyod.

The story picks up the pair of dimwits 20 years later with not an ounce of sense more. But instead of trying to return a suitcase full of money to its rightful owner, the duo goes in search of a child that one had apparently fathered “because they need to ask the progeny for a kidney,” reports the Empire.

The movie is bound to fill theaters across the country, but with today’s jobless rate, one line from the original “Dumb and Dumber” is sure not to be a repeat in the new movie – at least not for the humor value – “I can't believe we drove around all day, and there's not a single job in this town. There is nothing, nada, zip!” - because that's just not funny these days.
