"Dukes of Hazzard" reunion rumors are buzzing again. These latest "Dukes of Hazzard" reunion rumors stem from the show celebrating the 35th anniversary of when it premiered. According to a report from Sunday (Jan. 26), the first episode of the show aired on CBS back on Jan. 26, 1979. There had been a number of stories about people trying to get the full cast together, especially with the recent attempted re-boot failing so badly in theaters.
The three main characters from the show were John Schneider (Bo), Tom Wopat (Luke), and Catherine Bach (Daisy). Several other characters, like Roscoe P. Coltrane, Boss Hogg, and Uncle Jessie stood out as well, but the main trio was why many viewers tuned in to watch the show. That and the famous Dodge going by the General Lee for every episode that it was on the air. Johnny Knoxville, Seann William Scott, and Jessica Simpson took on the roles of those main characters in a 2005 movie attempt that didn't find a huge following.
One of the reasons that a real reunion for "The Dukes of Hazzard" hasn't been able to take place is that Schneider never really wanted to be known just for this role. He has avoided talking publicly about the role in the years since the show was canceled and has avoided quite a few events centered around the show. For now, fans are just going to have to enjoy the repeat episodes of the show, because it certainly doesn't look like the cast members that remain alive will be in the same place at the same time in the near future.
