Duke Women edge Wolfpack in Raleigh (Photos)

N.C. State has proven to be a tough opponent for Duke all through Kellie Harper’s tenure as head coach, as long as they don’t play at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
And when the two nearby ACC rivals got together Thursday night at Reynolds Coliseum, the pattern continued.

The Wolfpack gave the Blue Devils all they wanted for over 39 minutes, but No. 3 Duke hit six of its last eight free throws in the closing seconds to escape with a 67-57 victory.
The win improved the Blue Devils to 12-0, 2-0 in ACC action, while State fell to 8-6 and 0-2.
Chelsea Gray poured in 20 points while Haley Peters added 18 with 11 rebounds – her second straight double-double – to lead the Blue Devils. Freshman guard Alexis Jones chipped in 12 points.

Kody Burke paced the Wolfpack with 15 points while Marissa Kastanek added 12.
