Known as the biggest rivalry in college basketball, the matchup between the Duke Blue Devils and the North Carolina Tar Heels are sure to feature remarkable players, competitive coaches and the most dedicated fans every year. This weekend, Los Angeles will get a chance to relive the passion, excitement, and emotions as the rivalry comes to L.A. LIVE on Sunday, February 9.
Come join us for a fun-filled day and experience the intensity as Duke-Carolina: The Blue Blood Rivalry premieres at Regal Cinemas L.A. LIVE Stadium 14.
With Duke and North Carolina separated by less than 10 miles of highway known as Tobacco Road, the rivalry has grown into one of the most watched regular season games of the year. Both schools have featured historic coaches on the sidelines including Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski, the most winningest coach in NCAA Division 1 men’s basketball history and North Carolina’s Dean Smith, the fourth winningest coach.
This unique documentary showcases the entire rivalry spectacle including fan camp-outs, team preparations prior to the game, and dramatic buzzer-beating finishes. The film also provides audiences with insightful interviews from rivalry stars sharing their thrilling experiences. To illustrate the magnitude of the Duke-Carolina rivalry, former Tar Heel and current Los Angeles Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak states, “there are only two games that matter, the North Carolina game at Duke and the Duke game at North Carolina.”
