Duke Blue Devils sophomore guard Chelsea Gray was named the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Player of the Week on Monday.
Gray posted the fourth triple-double in school history and 14th in ACC history on Sunday as her 14 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds helped the seventh-ranked Blue Devils down the visiting Pittsburgh Panthers, 92-43.
Gray’s assist total (13) tied a school-record while she hit 5-of-7 field goals, went 2-of-2 beyond the arc, pulled down a career-high 11 rebounds, and tallied six steals – all in 33 minutes of action.
On Thursday, against the 13th-ranked Purdue Boilermakers, Gray posted 11 points, seven rebounds, four assists, two blocks and three steals in 36 minutes of play as the Blue Devils collected a 54-43 victory on the night.
For the week, Gray averaged 12.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 8.5 assists, 4.5 steals and 1.5 blocks. She hit 52.9 percent of her field goals and 66.7 percent from downtown.
The honor for Gray is the first of her short career.
Duke moved up a spot to #6 in the latest Associated Press poll and now travels to take on the 10th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats on Thursday.
