After following the Dukan Diet for awhile, you may become desperate for something other than fried or scrambled eggs for breakfast while longing for a creative way to eat your daily oat bran. This tasty French toast recipe lets you guiltlessly partake of a sweet breakfast treat without cheating on the diet.
Ingredients for the bread:
1/4 cup oat bran (preferably Quaker or Trader Joe's brand)
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoons fat free sour cream
Mix everything together. Put the batter in a square, one-quart microwave-proof dish and microwave it for 3 minutes or until the mixture has formed a solid, bread-like square.
Ingredients for the egg dip:
1/2 cup skim milk
1 packet Splenda or other calorie-free sweetener of your choice
1 tsp vanilla
Mix the ingredients together in a small bowl. Cut the bread into four squares and dip each piece into the egg mixture for about 30 seconds. Fry in a lightly greased pan until light brown on both sides.
Serve with sugar free pancake syrup. Walmart has an excellent and cheap store brand of sugar free pancake syrup sweetened with sucralose (Splenda). You can also add a dollop of fat free, sugar free whipped cream or whipped topping.
