According to Sportsnet One, Canadian Olympic silver medalists Eric Radford of Balmertown, Ontario and Meagan Duhamel of Lively, Ontario won a bronze medal on Thursday at the 2014 World Figure Skating Championships in Saitama, Japan.

Radford and Duhamel posted a score of 210.84 points to finish in third place for the second consecutive year. Two-time Olympic pairs bronze medalists Aliona Savchenko and Robin Szolkowy of Germany won the gold medal with a score of 224.88 points followed by the 2014 Olympic pairs silver medalists of Ksenia Stolbova and Fedor Klimov of Russia with a score of 215.92.

Radford and Duhamel were sitting in second place after their emotional short program, and remained on the podium after the long program even though Duhamel fell on one of her jumps.

The Canadians were part of the Canadian team that won a silver medal in the inaugural team competition at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. They also finished in seventh place in the Olympic pairs competition.
