The fans of “19 Kids and Counting” were salivating when watching the latest episode of the reality show. Jinger was showing Joy-Anna how to make homemade bread, which apparently is a Duggar family tradition that happens once a week. While the smell of bread was only in the minds of the fans, the Duggar family got a bunch of requests to share their secret family recipe. Giving the fans what they want, the Duggar family posted the recipe on their official blog on Wednesday.

Thinking this would be the typical loaf of bread receipt that could be bought at the store? Well, think again. The recipe offers up wholesome goodness that only homemade bread can offer. Yielding four large loaves, the recipe calls for 17 cups of whole wheat flour and uses honey. As most people know, bread tastes so much better when made from scratch and the food on television looked delicious.

While some people ponder how much food the family eats every month, homemade fresh bread is one item that everyone can appreciate. It is a wholesome food that brings family together and it doesn't matter how big or small of a family unit.

Recently Michelle Duggar revealed that the family spends a small fortune in groceries. According to Hollywood Gossip, the family spends close to $3,000 a month on all the necessities for eating. Offering up healthy choices is important and giving the kids foods that are good for them (like fresh homemade bread) also seems to be a priority.

Hopefully some day in the near future the family will think about another book highlighting all the recipes just from the season. It would be a great way to follow along with the family and be able to connect over food that everyone could eat.

19 Kids and Counting” airs Tuesday night on TLC.
