Duggar family garden? ’19 Kids and Counting’ cast plants seeds for big harvest

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have a big family and with all those mouths to feed there needs to be food for everyone. While many folks ask about the grocery bill (especially with all those teenagers in the house) it appears that the family of “19 Kids and Counting” has a green thumb too. Keeping the fans in the loop, the Duggar family announced they were planting their annual garden. Sharing some details on the official Duggar family blog on Saturday, the TLC family gave everyone a glimpse of what seeds (and plants) were going into the ground.

As most viewers know, the Duggar family has a big piece of property. While the house is the main focus of the land and it is what the viewer’s primarily see on the reality show, it appears that around the area there have been plots of land sectioned off for the seeds to be planted. The kids were carrying shovels to the area and looking like they were ready for a little hard work to have the ground ready for the big planting.

Sharing several pictures, the areas had the kids out working the soil and getting ready for the seeds to be planted. Showing how much land was readily available, it seems that there was plenty of work for all the plants to be set before watering could begin.

Previously, the Duggar family has mentioned that the food bill is in the thousands of dollars every month. With a pantry of food ready to be used, there has to be enough for everyone. Add fresh fruits and vegetables that the family will have during harvest and the kids are going to have a lot of great tasting food. Plus it is a great lesson in life and even the watering will be something they learn to appreciate.

19 Kids and Counting” airs Tuesday night at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
