On March 8, NBC executives revealed that the super-sized Duggar family from “19 Kids and Counting” would make a live appearance on “Today." The Duggars are slotted to make a mystery announcement sometime in the 9-10 a.m. hour on March 11 and fans are curious about the subject of Monday’s appearance. Is Michelle Duggar pregnant with her 20th child? Is Anna Duggar pregnant with her third child? Is one of the older Duggar children engaged or courting? Is the Duggar appearance simply a publicity maneuver to promote their 3-part “Duggars Do Asia” special that begins airing on March 12?
The last time the entire Duggar family appeared on “Today” was back on Nov. 8, 2011 when Michelle announced that she was expecting baby #20. She and Jim Bob both said that they were very excited. “There’s always room for one more child,” Michelle stated. “Children are a gift from God.” Unfortunately, Michelle suffered a miscarriage and the family was forced to mourn Jubilee, whom was memorialized with a funeral. At the time, Michelle said emotionally, “Everyone has a purpose. God does not make mistakes. He gives life and he also has the privilege and right to take life. In Jubilee’s situation, her life was so short, 18 weeks, but she brought such joy into our family during those weeks. When I thought of her eyes, I thought, ‘God, she saw you first.’ She may never have seen my face or have known my voice or love, but she saw God. She is at peace with God.”
So, is Michelle pregnant again and ready to announce it to the world on Monday morning? Fans have been lighting up social media and most agree that daughter-in-law Anna is the one who will make the big announcement. She and hubby Joshua Duggar have always said that they want a big family. Mackynzie turned three in October and Michael will turn two in June, so it’s about time for a new baby for the oldest Duggar child and his wife of four years. Concerning children, Josh posted on his website, “As we have entered the new phase in life of parenting, we trust that the Lord will give us the strength and ability to raise our family and our children to become responsible young men & women that would look past themselves and serve the needs of those around them.”
The Duggar family travelled to Japan and China last year and their big adventure will be chronicled in a new three-part special called “Duggars Do Asia.” Beginning on Tuesday, March 12, the one-hour episodes will show the Duggars experiencing foreign cultures very different from their own. From experimenting with native food and riding rickshaws to donning traditional Geisha dress and fighting as Samurai, the Duggars are up for it all. While things may get lost in the translation, and they often feel like fish out of water, the Duggars make memories of a lifetime. All three episodes will air from 9-10 p.m. EST and PST.
- “Duggars Do Asia: Tokyo, Japan”: After wrangling 40 suitcases at the airport, the Duggars head out on a trip of a lifetime and their first stop is Tokyo. Tuesday, March 12.
- “Duggars Do Asia: Kyoto, Japan”: The Duggars take part in a Master Goldfish Catcher competition, then make their way to Kyoto, the second stop on their overseas adventure. Tuesday, March 19.
- “Duggars Do Asia: Beijing, China”: The Duggars navigate the city and visit Tiananmen Square, the Great Wall of China and a local village. Tuesday, March 26.
