Dufour-Lapointe sisters win gold and silver for Canada in women's moguls

According to CBC, Justine Dufour-Lapointe and Chloe Dufour-Lapointe of Montreal won the gold medal and silver medal respectively in the women's moguls competition at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.

Justine who is 19 and Chloe who is 22 became the first Canadian sisters in Olympic history to place in first and second place on the podium. American Hannah Kearney, the reigning Olympic champion from the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, won the bronze medal.

Justine Dufour-Lapointe posted a winning score of 22.44 points with Chloe Dufour-Lapointe registering a score of 21.66 points for second place.

According to NBC Sports, Justine Dufour-Lapointe successfully performed a 360 and had strong rythmic action. Even though her speed down the hill might not have been as fast as others, Justine showed minimal separation between her knees, something Kearney was unable to accomplish.

Justine Dufour-Lapointe follows in the footsteps of Jennifer Heil of Spruce Grove, Alberta, who won the gold medal for Canada in women's moguls at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turin.

In all Canada won three medals on Saturday. They join Mark McMorris of Regina who won a bronze medal in the men's slopestyle snowboarding.
