Duffin's last day at New York high kill shelter unless his rescuer arrives

Duffin was picked up as a stray on March 13; no one ever came to find him. Classified as a gray pit bull mix, Duffin is barely two years old, and is scheduled to be euthanized on Thursday.

Urgent Death Row Dogs Part 2 New York City Animal Care and Control

Life is far from ideal at the New York City Animal Care and Control. Duffin is already coughing and has some untreated skin conditions, but his possibilities are endless; if only someone will give him a chance.

According to the city's evaluation, Duffin can only be adopted to an experienced person with no children in the household. During his evaluation, Duffin growled during the food, rawhide and toy tests, but never tried to bite anyone.

Please remember, dogs are in stressful situations when placed with strangers, lots of noise and many other dogs.

Please watch Duffin's video as he interacts with a volunteer.

A volunteer who has walked Duffin states:

"I've walked Duffin a bunch and he is awesome !! He is very, very good on leash and always checking in. Sometimes he gets this happy hop to his step after I've pet him, but he still doesn't pull. He is VERY cute - love those ears. He knows "sit" and seems to have some house training. He LOVES to be petted and is so affectionate. He needs to find someone tonight !!"

Please share Duffin's story with your friends, family, and coworkers. He doesn't have much time to find a new beginning. Please refer to #A0993833.
