Some of Magic: The Gathering's titan cycle will be available in promo versions with the upcoming summer release of Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012. Players looking to acquire a spiffy new artwork version of some of the M11 favorites won't be disappointed - unless of course, you wanted a Primeval Titan or a Sun Titan. They're on promo vacation, probably enjoying a cocktail with Liliana in one of Innistrad's leading tourist destinations.
Steam users will be eligible to receive a promo Frost Titan, XBLA players will score a promo Grave Titan, and PS3 players snag a promo Inferno Titan. Codes will be issued with the product that players will be able to redeem at their local Magic: The Gathering store.
Monty Ashley has revealed the new artwork and promo cards in today's Magic Arcana over on the official site, and the inevitable question being raised in the Magic: The Gathering community is: "Are the titans coming back for another round in M12?".
With 5 slots presumably reserved for Jace, Gideon, Sorin, Chandra, and Garruk, the inclusion of the titan cycle would account for 10 mythic slots already taken in M12.
The fact that some of the titans are being offered as promo cards for Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 does not necessarily mean that they will be back for M12, but it certainly does pose the question.
