Duct taped dogs dumped at shelter

Phoenix, AZ - Last Friday, an individual delivered four dogs, along with a litter of newborn puppies, to the Maricopa County Animal Care and Control.

The dogs were not merely signed over the shelter, they arrived with their muzzles and feet tightly bound with duct tape.

The owner advised shelter staff that "the dogs weren't nice" and they did not want to get scratched or bitten.

Imagine the despair and sense of abandonment that these dogs felt as their owner cruelly bound them up in tape, only to haul them off to a frightening shelter...

Imagine the fear and bewilderment as all that was familiar to them faded away...

One of the dogs arrived with newborn puppies - puppies who are now at great risk because they are housed with dozens of other dogs.

The shelter is reaching out for assistance.

As of yesterday afternoon, nobody had inquired about the dogs - no rescues or adopters...

All of the dogs need to leave, but the mother and her newborns are at the top of the "urgent" list.

According to the shelter, all of the dogs are females. One appears to be a German shorthaired pointer, two appear to be lab mixes and the brindle appears to be a Pit bull mix.

Will you please take a moment to share these dogs? They have been terribly failed by their owner.

Taping them up and dumping them at a shelter in such a callous manner is nothing short of heartless.

ID numbers on these dogs: A3107173, A3107174, A3107175, A3107176, A3107177, A3107178, A3107242

If the dogs are not networked, they will likely not leave the facility - their owner's cruel actions the last defining moment of their short lives.

Note: The police were contacted about this situation. They arrived and photographed the dogs and opened an investigation. The shelter has no knowledge about whether charges are being pursued.
