‘Duck Dynasty’ wins award for Most-Viewed New TV Series

Duck Dynasty,” the quirky and beloved reality series on A&E, rolls along as a huge rating success. On March 7, Comcast Cable awarded “Duck Dynasty” a 2012 Xfinity On Demand Award for The Most Viewed New TV Series. This is the third consecutive year that Comcast has sponsored its yearly salute to the most-watched TV series, movies and musicians On Demand. With over 22 million video customers across the country, Comcast was able to see which shows Americans loved to watch the most in 2012 on their own time, by looking at the data for Xfinity On Demand viewership. While the Academy named “Argo” as the biggest film of the year, the Xfinity On Demand Awards shed light on which films, musicians, and TV shows Americans loved to watch the most from the comfort of their home and on their own schedule last year.

A&E’s “Duck Dynasty” earned the Xfinity On Demand Award for Most-Viewed New TV Series. The series continues to break records and its season 3 premiere drew in 8.6 million viewers, A&E’s highest ratings and viewership record ever. It comes as no surprise that many viewers turned to Xfinity On Demand to catch up on the show currently dominating water-cooler chatter.

Duck Dynasty” on A&E Network is a reality series that follows the Robertsons, a Louisiana bayou family living the American dream as they operate a thriving business, while staying true to their family values and lifestyle. The newly minted multimillionaire family runs Duck Commander, a sporting empire that fabricates top-of-the-line duck calls and decoys out of salvaged swamp wood. Each episode brings a new set of challenges, met with a special brand of Southern know-how and a down-home sense of humor. Season 3 premiered on Feb. 27. and all-new episodes air at 10 p.m. EST on Wednesday nights on A&E.
