“The Duck Dynasty” boys look like the kind of guys who just might have a few closets full of skeletons. This backwoods brood resemble folks who you'd expect have few family secrets that were consequences of a redneck life, but no, they’re fairly regular guys. Even when Si pens a book and talks about how his alcoholism almost caused him to shoot two innocent people in Vietnam you’re thinking this guy is O.K.
According to an Oct. 3 article on the website, the Huffington Post, this really did happen and Si admits this in his new book, “Si-cology: Tales and Wisdom from Duck Dynasty’s Favorite Uncle.” He reveals that his year in Vietnam was all about him drinking alcohol to numb what he was feeling while he was there. This was a year where Si lived dangerously.
He realized the extent of his journey into the bottle when he came close to killing a Vietnamese woman and a boy for no reason at all, other than he was drunk at the time. His brother Phil, who owned and operated a bar years ago, also suffered from too much drink during those days.
Both men straightened up and to fly right and were much better to be around after their days of drinking were over. Si talked about his childhood, marred by his mother’s mental illness and her frequent stays in an institution or hospital. Si’s book is the back story to “Duck Dynasty,” it’s about the stuff most people wouldn’t want to share about their private lives.
Si did share and from what the majority of fans are saying about Uncle Si and his book today, he scored big with the kudos for being so open and honest with his fans. They love him on the social networks.
Si shared many private aspects of his “Duck Dynasty” family’s life and while people think more of him today for sharing this personal information, they’re not surprised that he did. This guy is about as down to earth as one could get. Si is one strange looking and bizarre acting guy, but he is the breakout star to “Duck Dynasty” and folks just love him!
