The internet is going crazy and fans are outraged over the announcement that “Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson is being suspended by A&E. People reported on Dec 18 that A&E was suspending the “Duck Dynasty” star following comments he made that were against homosexuality in a GQ published interview. A&E said they were disappointed in the comments and expressed that they were the personal opinions of Phil Robertson and not related to the “Duck Dynasty” show.

While there were some anti-gay comments made throughout the article and at one point it was compared to bestiality, Robertson went on to say it is for the Almighty to judge. He also said after these comments that it is simply their job to tell people about Jesus and love them.

Robertson released a statement after A&E announced the suspension . He said, “I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me. We are all created by the Almighty and like Him, I love all of humanity."

“Duck Dynasty” has been growing in popularity and will begin showing season 5 in January. Phil will appear in these beginning episodes. Fans are not happy with this suspension and petitions are already being circulated throughout social media to end it and let him back on his show.

Do you think A&E has completely overreacted? The Robertson family has never made their strong Christianity beliefs a secret. Their beliefs and family values is part of what has made them into the popular family they are.

“Duck Dynasty” can be seen on A&E with new episodes airing in January.
