“Duck Dynasty” star Missy Robertson is a faithful wife to husband Jase, and is also mother to three wonderful children. She is quite open about her Christian faith as well. She has been out and about with the other Robertson ladies promoting their brand new book, “The Women of Duck Commander.” Fox News posted a recent interview on April 1 as Missy Robertson talks about her faith, husband and kids.
In the interview with Fox 411, Robertson reveals a piece of advice that she considers the best ever given to her. She said that when she was pregnant with her first child, she heard someone say that the best thing you can do for your children is to love their daddy. That has stuck with her ever since. She has made it her goal to love her husband more than anything, even more than her three kids. Does that surprise you?
The interviewer mentioned the fact that some mothers may feel that this is a betrayal to their kids and may be frowned upon. Robertson’s answer may or may not surprise you.
“I think that's a very scary trend that's happening in America, putting children first because they expect that for the rest of their lives for one thing and no one will ever measure up to their mom treating them like a prince or princess,” she said.
She went on to say, “I mean, I love my kids. We're at every ball game and recital, we encourage them and build them up to try everything they can but they also need to understand they are not going to be the best at everything and if they expect it, that's going to lead to a lot of jealousy and a lot of fighting with teammates and friends.”
The Robertson songstress also mentioned how her faith in God has gotten her through some tough times, including most recently daughter Mia's cleft palate surgery. If it wasn't for her faith and the support of the family, she said that she has no idea how she would have gotten through it.
In addition to promoting the book, Robertson is also busy with a new line of modest clothing coming out soon and doing speaking engagements in various cities.
