Jase Robertson of "Duck Dynasty" fame claims that he was "facially profiled" and that's the reason he was escorted out of a hotel. On Aug. 18, UPI reported that Robertson might have been unfairly judged because of his long hair, beard, and camouflage clothing. Upon asking to use the bathroom, a hotel employee mistook Robertson for a homeless man and escorted him outside.
"He said, 'Right this way, sir.' He was very nice. He walked me outside, pointed down the road and said, 'Good luck.' So I circled back around, and my wife said, 'What happened?' and I just said 'I just got kicked out,'" Robertson explained of the ordeal.
Jase Robertson and the "Duck Dynasty" gang could easily be mistaken for homeless people -- or worse. These guys are pretty weird looking to be walking into a swanky hotel or an expensive restaurant. If you don't know who they are, you probably would judge them based on how they look and what they wear. The good thing is that the Robertson's know that people look at them strange and they just let incidents like this roll of their backs.
These guys are becoming more and more famous. With 11.8 million viewers tuning into the premiere last week, one would think that everyone knows who these guys are. But clearly that's not the case.
For Jase Robertson and his "Duck Dynasty" family, it's hard to go unrecognized because of their distinct looks -- but at the same time it's sort of easy. Perhaps in another few months they will be even more famous and never have a mistaken identity issue again.
