According to an article published by The Wall Street Journal on Dec. 27, A&E has decided to resume filming “Duck Dynasty” with patriarch Phil Robertson in tow after he was suspended earlier this month for making what were considered by many to be anti-gay comments.
The Wall Street Journal reports that A&E released a statement saying that they acted “quickly and strongly” because they operate with a “strong sense of integrity;” however, after talking to a number of advocacy groups they have decided to resume filming with Robertson.
After A&E announced Robertson's suspension, fans of the show were outraged. Many signed a petition to have him reinstated. The remainder of the Robertson clan also stood by their patriarch when they released a statement saying they were in talks with A&E because they couldn't see how the show could continue without Phil at the helm.
Duck Dynasty” first aired on the A&E Network in March of 2012, and wrapped up its fourth season on October 2013. Season 5 of “Duck Dynasty” is set to air in 2014.
