A "Duck Dynasty" scarecrow modeled after Si Robertson was found charred in Ball Ground, Georgia. On Oct. 22, the Miami Herald reported that police found the burned scarecrow after it had been stolen. Several tips from people in the area helped police locate the fall decoration which was originally sitting on a hay bale in its creator's front yard.
Police have arrested a teenager whom they believe to have been the culprit. He faces charges in juvenile court and is expected to go before a judge in the coming weeks. Further details about the teen were not immediately available but it is presumed that he stole the scarecrow as prank, not unlike smashing pumpkins or egging a house.
The "Duck Dynasty" scarecrow was very special to many people in the area. It reportedly took four moms from the Ball Ground Elementary School 40 hours to complete it. The scarecrow was a favorite to win the inaugural scarecrow contest but was destroyed before the winner could be announced. The mothers who created it are planning on making another one. They are fans of "Duck Dynasty" and they say that they are forgiving the teen and moving forward.
"To begin with we were kind of upset, the main reason we had done 'Duck Dynasty' was because of the background and their beliefs and we truly believe in them, and as a community we have to forgive," explained on of the creating moms, Allison Martin.
A photo of the "Duck Dynasty" scarecrow hasn't been released to the public yet. Hopefully the new scarecrow will make it to the media for all to see.
