'Duck Dynasty' damage control: How will A&E fix the ousting of Phil?

Duck Dynasty” is the talk of the nation today after putting Phil Robertson on suspension for giving his own opinion in a magazine interview. Putting aside the blow back that A&E is feeling today, “Duck Dynasty” couldn’t ask for a more successful promotional campaign.

According to Fox News live on Saturday morning Dec. 21, folks who never heard of “Duck Dynasty” have now. Those who have never seen the show will most likely feel the urge to tune in to see what all the hoop-la is about.

Any fan of “Duck Dynasty” will tell you this family and their antics are addicting. The eyes of the nation are focused on what A&E’s next move will be. According to CNN on Dec. 21, since announcing Phil’s suspension on Thursday, A&E has been quiet.

The network has yet to come out to clarify what the future of “Duck Dynasty” is going to look like now that Phil is gone and the family is ready to walk with him. While A&E or the “Duck Dynasty” family have said nothing about what is going on behind the scenes today, you can bet folks are scrambling to fix this mess.

Don’t forget, Phil’s suspension didn’t have a time limit, which works well for A&E in this case. Phil will show up on the first few episodes of the new “Duck Dynasty” season because those have already been filmed, which is what A&E said when they announced his suspension. Chances are Phil’s suspension will end as quick as it started and everything will go back to normal within a few days.

This could come as quick as Monday, suggests Fox on Saturday morning. When the dust settles, and it will, “Duck Dynasty” will have gathered a couple of million more fans for the show after all this media coverage. A&E suspended Phil to appease the Gay Rights Groups that clamped onto Phil’s every word.

They demanded A&E act on this travesty of words coming from Phil and they did. Little did they realize that they cut off their nose to spite their face by moving too quickly without thinking about the possible outcome.

When it boils down to it, A&E has no other path to follow but to put Phil back on the show. Without Phil, there’s no show as far as the family and the fans are concerned. If A&E doesn’t want the “Duck Dynasty” folks, for sure there’s networks just waiting in the wing to snap them up. What do you think?
