Millions of people across the nation have grown to love the bearded, Robertson men of A&E's reality series, Duck Dynasty. Phil, Si, Willie, Jase and Jep are all known for their wild, bushy beards, but there was a time where you could see their handsome, beardless faces.
The beards all started with Phil, according to his son Willie. A cold northwest wind caused Phil's face to get cold so he grew his beard out and "it kind of turned into a trademark." The rest of the Robertson guys all followed suit and the rest is history.
There are still some who believe the beards were a marketing ploy, but it has't stopped the series from being A&E's top rated telecast. The season two finale in December had 6.5 viewers. Season three premiered on February 27th with 8.6 million viewers causing a jump of 132 percent in views.
New episodes of Duck Dynasty can be seen on A&E Wednesday nights at 9:00 PM CST.
