'Duck Dynasty': A&E cooks their own goose (or duck)

When news of Phil Robertson's suspension from "Duck Dynasty" became public on Dec. 18, public reaction was visceral. There has been plenty of talk about boycotting A&E for punishing Robertson for discussing his religious beliefs. It doesn't look like a boycott is going to be necessary. As expected, the tight-knit Robertson clan appears to be moving toward the ultimate boycott. According to a Dec. 19 post on Facebook, Fox News journalist Todd Starnes, an unabashed fan of the show, posted on the Todd Starnes Facebook that he had gotten a statement from the Robertsons that cast doubt on the future of "Duck Dynasty."

We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm.

Starnes goes on to write that the Robertsons are in discussions with A&E Network about the show’s future. The statement also explained that Phil Robertson’s responses to GQ may have been “coarse,” but they were “rooted in the Bible.”

Starnes also provided a link to the Fox News Article that discussed the statement in detail. If you want to stay on top of the situation, Starnes is the one to follow on Twitter. @Toddstarnes

As would be expected, the Robertsons are praying about the entire situation.
