The Duchess of Cambridge will visit The Art Room charity in Oxford next week, it was announced today. Barely had the Duchess finished with her Liverpool visit than the next engagement was being announced. In the last few days, the Court Circular has sprouted a new name on the drop-down list for searching; the Duchess, it appears, has fully arrived in the British Royal Family.
BBC Oxfordshire said that the Duchess will go to Oxford next Tuesday, February 21, for her visit. The smallest of all Catherine's charities, The Art Room uses art therapy to help put children with issues back on track. (Story continues below.)
Where a child is at risk of getting into trouble or has behavioral or learning issues, the alternative art curriculum helps him or her to express problems and eventually move back towards standard education. The Art Room serves young people between the ages of five and 16 years.
The Duchess of Cambridge will also visit Oxford Spires Academy for a training session, and will then join a discussion group. Oxford Spires opened in January 2011 and is a secondary school with an emphasis on business and entrepreneurship; the academy serves students from the ages of 11 through 18.
