HRH The Duchess of Cambridge was supposedly caught on camera earlier this week revealing that she was expecting a baby girl. Refuting that claim, the Daily Mail released video today taken by a woman in the middle of conversation that sets the record straight. Lisa Hewson, 32, was standing just feet away when someone handed Catherine a teddy bear. In her video, however, the Duchess can clearly be heard saying: “Is this for us, awww, thank you so much, it's very sweet of you.” Another person close by had reported that the Duchess said “is this for our dau...” and Ms. Hewson felt the need correct the misinformation in the press. The rest of the earlier account appears to be correct with the expectant mother denying that she had let it slip and saying that she and her husband Prince William didn't know the gender.
Chances are that the Duchess is being truthful in saying that the royal couple doesn't know the gender. While in recent years most expectant parents in America choose to find out the gender before birth via ultrasound, it is still very uncommon in England to do such a thing.
