TRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were with the Irish Guards today at their annual parade when Kate spoke with a guardsman about their baby and her pregnancy. According to the Daily Mail the Duchess, formerly known as Kate Middleton, told a soldier that the couple did not know the gender of their future child. She did reveal, however, that "I’d like to have a boy and William would like a girl." With bills actively moving through Parliament, it is known that the gender of the child will not affect the line of succession and either would follow his or her father in line to the throne. The Guardsman who spoke with the Duchess also asked if they had picked out any names yet and the Duchess replied that they had not. Bookies have high odds on the royal standards of Elizabeth and Victoria. The soldier then expressed hope that her pregnancy was going alright and she said “yes it is.” This is great news as the first time mother was struck with a nasty case of morning sickness having to be hospitalized briefly to make sure she was stable. While the exchange was quick, the conversation reveals a bit about how the world’s most famous pregnancy is proceeding.
