Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine took some time out from her baby, Prince George of Cambridge, to play a little volleyball earlier today, October 18, 2013 at an Athlete Workshop at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park at Stratford in East London, England.
Catherine watched young athletes being taught volleyball, badminton and wheelchair basketball by the charity SportsAid of which she is Patron.
Attired in her 2012 London Olympics ensemble of blue skinny jeans by label J Brand, striped T-shirt, navy blue blazer by Smythe ($597) and Russell & Bromley black pumps with cork wedges ($397), the former Kate Middleton took to the volleyball court at the athlete’s workshop. The only thing that was missing from last year’s outfit was the Olympics scarf she accessorized with.
The 31-year-old wife of Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, looked trim and fit, just a few months after having given birth in July to her royal son George, third in line to the British throne.
This is also Kate’s first solo public engagement since she gave birth, but apparently the Duchess came a little ill-prepared for the task as she explained that she was tempted to pick up the fencing saber but she’d brought the wrong shoes!
In the Copper Box Arena, where the Olympic handball competition was held last year, the Duchess met with Olympians and Paralympians including wheelchair basketball player and TV presenter Ade Adepitan, rowing gold medallist Katherine Grainger, as well as swimmer Karen Pickering.
