Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton attended the St. Patrick’s Day parade celebration in honor of the Irish guards, reported the Huff Post on March 17. The royal couple chatted with soldiers about their baby during the annual event.
Pregnant Kate’s very visible baby bump was covered by a green dress coat decorated with a shamrock lapel pin and a shamrock sprig.
As the royal couple greeted each soldier with a shamrock sprig decoration, a soldier did not miss the chance to ask the former commoner if she knew the sex of her royal baby yet.
The royal Duchess has been very closed-mouth about knowing the sex of her first baby but surprised everyone this time beyond the normal response, “I don’t know.”
“I’d like to have a boy and William would like a girl,” the glowing Kate replied to Guardsman Lee Wheeler.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and former Kate Middleton announced their pregnancy news last December 2012 when they were not able to keep it hidden from the world any longer due to a severe form of morning sickness called hyperemesis gravidarum that required hospitalization.
Royal watchers and fans are excited and are taking every opportunity to find out what the sex of their precious bundle will be; the baby who will be third-in-line to be King or Queen of England sometime in July.
