Kate Middleton has an eye for a bargain and now that she’s a mom, she’s bargain hunting for not only adult clothes, but baby attire too. Bargain hunting is what Duchess Kate was doing at the outlet mall about 60 miles outside of London recently, according to E Online on Aug. 15.
The Duchess was shopping incognito, straying away from the tiny hats and classy princess-like clothes that she’s usually seen in during public engagements. Instead Kate looked totally casual shopping alone, but with her bodyguards not too far behind her.
MSN News reminds folks today that in mid-September, Kate is heading to Malta on her first solo tour. It is a two day trip, which could still boil down to Kate needing dozens of outfits. She will represent the Queen during Malta’s 50-year anniversary of Independence from the U.K.
She could be doing a bit of shopping for that trip at the outlet mall in Oxfordshire, suggests the website. People were seen taking out their phones and sharing “I just saw Kate” on their Twitter accounts.
Witnesses said she appeared to be careful not to make eye contact with people so she wouldn’t be recognized, but that didn’t do the trick as Twitter lit up with Kate Middleton outlet mall sightings. Twitter users saw Kate at Gucci and Ralph Lauren, she was also seen buying a pair of Lacoste pajamas for Prince George and they were on sale!
One Twitter user wrote how strange it is to go shopping and see a princess, one who is in the news almost daily. It seems as if people did recognize Kate, but they awarded her the privacy to shop without being inundated by fans.
Kate’s low-key attire consisted of jeans and a jumper sweater and believe it or not, no one captured a picture of Kate bargain shopping. As far as Kate goes, she was “focused on shopping,” said one witness on Twitter.
Short and sweet Tweets about Kate like “She’s so pretty,” and “OMG Kate Middleton swanning around Bicester Village,” started sprouting up just a few minutes after she was sighted at the mall. It is sightings like this that reiterate just how down to Earth Kate truly is.
She could afford personal shoppers, or merchants who come to her with their products. Instead she opts to do just about what every other woman does when they want or need something from a store, that’s go and get it yourself. She had a day out shopping without her two favorite boys, William and George.
