Have you ever wondered what it would have been like back in the 1960’s or 1970’s to check out a brand new Corvette at the Chevy dealer? Last Saturday’s Corvette show at Dublin Chevrolet was like stepping back in time when the front of the dealership was lined with vintage Corvettes. Bill Finch, a Service Advisor at Dublin Chevrolet and long time Corvette enthusiast, organized the event with the help or the Northern California Corvette Association. “We have about 75 Vettes here today, which is great turnout for a first time show. We plan on this being an annual event” Bill explained.
All the different generations of corvettes where represented, with the oldest car being a white with red interior 1958 model. The cars ranged from wild customs to number-matching, perfectly restored show cars. A strong contingent of late-model C-5 and C-6 cars were on display, complementing the older models. The cars were judged on a point system and awarded trophies in different categories. There was a Corvette for every taste at the show, making it fun for both the car owners and spectators.
Through all the different conversations about Corvettes at the show, one question kept coming up: when is the new C-7 Corvette arriving? I put that question to Bill Finch and he told me “The C-7 will be here soon, and when it does come in, we will have an even larger show”.
