On Monday, Dubai Dynamo (3-1 betting favourite) emerged victorious in the Polyflor Handicap at Ayr. Ruth Carr’s runner was 12 lbs below the ceiling rating in the 0-100 handicap. Dubai Dynamo would cross the finish line five lengths ahead of runner-up Karaka Jack.
“He's really appreciated the good ground today,” Carr told Racing U.K. afterwards. “He's got away with the soft ground but a lot of these horses have been crying out for good ground. It suited him today, there's not such a long straight as there is at places like Ripon. PJ (McDonald) didn't want to let the one in front get too far clear but he was always travelling.”
Also at Ayr, trainer Eric Alston’s King of Eden (11-2 betting odds) coasted under the guidance of jockey Jimmy Quinn to nearly a five lengths win in the Watch Live Racing At BetVictor.com Handicap horserace.
Alston said afterwards: “He really wants good ground but if it gets too fast for him it just jars him up because he's a big horse. I couldn't believe it when they said it hadn't rained for a week up here. I was always thinking of taking a chance on good to soft but he likes it good.”
