Once again, it didn't take long.
There has finally been some confirmation from a Nintendo representative that the DSi XL will be hitting the North America shores in the first quarter of 2010, the same time it will reach Europe.
Most likely, the closer we get to Japan's release in late November, the more we will hear about the additional applications and/or benefits the DSi XL will provide over the DSi. That is, in addition to the larger screen.
Quite frankly, one has to wonder if this is digressing a little bit. In the past when Nintendo has created a new version of a handheld, such as the many iterations of the Gameboy Advance, the handheld grew smaller and smaller. Even Sony has continually made smaller and thinner handhelds, and they have culminated their smallest version with the PSPgo. The DS Phat went smaller and thinner with the DS Lite, so now they are going to go even bigger with the DSi XL? It doesn't make much sense--as of yet, anyway--and begs the question how many more versions of the DS will Nintendo create before it comes up with a new handheld completely? The GBA had three, and the DS is starting on its fourth.
Nintendo is getting worse than Apple with its many, many iPods.

So what if they come out with another one. And how do you figure the GBA had three?
