Dry today with a little snow possible tonight

High pressure will briefly build across northern Ohio today with most locations seeing sunshine and dry conditions.

A warm front will lift northward toward the area tonight. Clouds will begin to increase late this afternoon in advance of the front. Snow is expected to break out tonight as the front approaches. Accumulations are expected to be light.

Some light snow or freezing drizzle will linger through Friday morning with mainly cloudy skies expected Friday afternoon as milder air spreads northward across the region.

A storm system will move west to east across the area Friday night and Saturday. This system will be accompanied by milder air and a surge of deep moisture. Rain will break out Friday night and continue through the day Saturday. We will have to monitor the flood threat over the weekend.

Here is the forecast: For today, partly cloudy with highs near 30 degrees. Winds SE 5-10 mph.

Tonight, cloudy with a chance of snow. Lows in the mid 20s. Winds SE 5-10 mph.

Friday, cloudy with snow or freezing drizzle during the morning, then mostly cloudy. Highs will be around 40. Winds S 10 mph.

Friday night, cloudy with rain likely. Lows in the mid 30s.

Saturday, cloudy with rain likely. Highs will reach the mid to upper 40s.

Looking ahead: A cold front will move across the area Saturday night with rain showers ending as a period of snow showers. Lows will fall to around 30. Sunday will be partly cloudy with highs near 40.

Monday will be partly cloudy with highs in the low 40s.

Another cold front will approach on Tuesday with a threat of rain and snow showers. Highs will be in the upper 30s.
