Yesterday’s light snowfall was just enough to make a mess of the morning rush hour and some of that hassle will linger into this morning. However we will be seeing sunny skies and slightly warmer temperatures Tuesday to help dry things out.

For today some low lying areas north and east of town may see some fog. Once that burns off most locations across the state will enjoy mostly sunny skies.

Temperatures at lower elevations will be warmer than yesterday but still a good ways below the average for the date of 44 degrees. Here in Denver look for a high temperature right near the freezing mark.

Up in the high country the mercury will be topping out in the upper teens / low 20s. Breezy winds in the mountains and on the eastern plains are going to make for some uncomfortable wind chill temperatures.

Looking ahead, Wednesday brings a very nice rebound to the lower elevations. Temperatures in Denver and along the Front Range will be back into the 50s.

A significant winter storm will be arriving in the high country tomorrow afternoon. Areas of the north central mountains will be seeing heavy snow from Wednesday PM into Friday morning. Coupled with strong winds this will create difficult travel conditions. A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for these areas and is in effect from 11:00 a.m. Wednesday until 5:00 a.m. Friday.

Here in town Thursday and Friday do look to be unsettled with a slight chance for some snow each day. Temperatures will be a bit below normal.

For the weekend drier weather returns but temperatures will be cooler than average with highs in the mid to upper 30s. See the image for today’s northeastern Colorado outlook and keep an eye on the thermometer with our live conditions page here.
