Strong and cold high pressure will bring lots of sunshine to the region to start the work week. Temperatures will remain quite cold for this time of year, averaging a good 15 to 25 degrees below normal.

Monday Weather Forecast
Capital Region Weather Examiner

Clouds will increase on Tuesday, in advance of a developing storm system over the Carolina coast. This storm will move to a position well south and east of Cape Cod by Wednesday morning, and the Gulf of Maine by Wednesday evening. At this point in time, the storm system looks to remain far enough to the south and east to impact the Capital Region with significant snowfall. Some light snow and/or snow showers look more probably for the Capital Region, with minor accumulations at best.

Brisk and gusty west to northwest winds will blow behind the system for Wednesday as clouds and sunshine mix. The weather turns decidedly warmer for the second half of the work week and into the weekend, along with a chance of showers with an approaching cold front Friday night and Saturday morning.
