Evidence of DUI

By watching the Corvette driver from the beginning of the footage to the end, there are several signs that suggest the driver is indeed intoxicated. The driver states that wide tires are hard to control and it pulls the car according to road camber angles. This is true but in most cases sober drivers are alert enough to catch and counter steer this effect long before drifting out of their lane.

Another key point that suggests illegal activity is that the Corvette driver decides to take a turn immediately after noticing a police cruiser is trailing behind her. Again, the road camber changes from sloping to the right, to sloping to the left during the corner and yet the driver drifts over the fog line once more. Once the driver is pulled over and confronted, she begins to drag on the conversation and over illustrate a huge story about things not even related to the subject that justify her sobriety. After the officer releases her, she continues to justify why her car pulls to either side over compensating her defense.

Evidence suggesting sobriety

It is very true that the 1980's style Chevrolet Corvette with extra wide tires can indeed pull a driver out of his or her lane. The naturally rough ride of the vehicle makes it hard to determine by seismic vibration whether or not you are indeed within your lane. Additionally, the vehicle has a horrible blind spot on the nose and front passenger side wheel which makes it rather hard to determine the exact vehicle position.

Beyond the vehicular aspects, just because someone likes to chat and is friendly doesn't mean they are intoxicated. There is still nice people in the world, and some love to talk about anything under the sun. Talking about yourself is still legal! The biggest argument for sobriety is the fact the officer did not detect the obvious signs of intoxication such as glossy eyes, alcoholic aromas, or slurred speech. We must trust this officer because he is the substitute for our lack of senses due to watching this from third party perspective.

Summary

This overall activity seems rather suspicious to me, but it's a genuine tough call to decide whether or not she is indeed intoxicated. There was no breathalyzer test therefore we will never know the truth. What do you think? Should the officer insisted upon a breathalyzer or street side sobriety test? Check out the video below and post your comments whether you think the Corvette driver is drunk or sober!
