Drunk man bound, taped to seat of plane over threats

Reportedly, a drunk man was taped to his seat aboard an Icelandair plane bound to New York Thursday. Allegedly, when the intoxicated passenger became verbally abusive and screamed about an impending plane crash, the drunk man was duct-taped to his seat.

On Jan. 4, Fox News reported that the unnamed passenger aboard a flight out of Reykjavik began spitting on passengers and yelling, "The plane was going to crash."

Apparently, the drunk man taped to the seat drank too much duty-free alcohol, causing him to become violent towards passengers and crew.

In addition to the spitting episodes and verbal rants, the intoxicated man tried to choke a woman sitting next to him on the plane. Sources say the disturbing event aboard the aircraft took place with about two hours left before landing. Obviously, this must have felt like an eternity to everyone aboard.

Luckily, passengers banned together and held the man down while crew members used duct-tape and plastic ties to bind the man to restrain the man.

A short time later, the plane landed safely in New York and was taken to a hospital in Queens for evaluation, according to the Port Authority.

Ironically, the unruly passenger is not facing charges; just blame it on the alcohol.

Hopefully, the drunk man taped to his seat gets the help he needs.
