On Wednesday September 11, 22-year-old Mathew Cordle pleaded not guilty to one count of aggravated vehicular homicide and one count of operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs ABC News reports.
On June 22, 2013 Cordle was driving the wrong way on Interstate 670 killing 61-year-old Vincent Canzani.
On September 3, 2013 Cordle posted a video on Youtube admitting to driving drunk on the interstate and Killing Canzani.
During the video, which starts out with Codle’s face blurred then he reveals his identity half way through the video says, “When I get charged I will plead guilty and take full responsibility for what I have done to Vincent and his family.” Although, when Cordle turned himself in he pleaded not guilty during the hearing for this unfortunate incident.
Judge Lynch told ABC News that Cordle's lawyers decided that Cordle would plead not guilty at the last minute before an initial hearing on Tuesday.
"Everything was going to be guilty," she said. "I'm somewhat incensed by somebody who doesn't, isn't forthright with the court."
Codle’s attorneys said they will proceed with their client’s wishes to plead guilty when he appears in front of a trial judge.
The indictment alleges that Cordle had a blood alcohol level of .191 at the time of the crash.
Cordle turned himself in at the Franklin County Jail Monday afternoon.
